Varian DS 602 Two-Stage Rotary Vane Pump

The DS 602 is a two-stage, oil-sealed rotary vane pump with a pumping speed of 25 m3 / h / 17.6 CFM and a base pressure of < 2 x 10 -3 mbar. The DS 602 operates with very low sound pressure and a single-phase electric motor with universal voltage.

An inlet isolation valve is integrated into the pump, which closes the inlet port when the power supply to the pump is interrupted. This check valve maintains the vacuum in the foreline and prevents pump oil from contaminating the vacuum chamber. The DS 602 features a manual gas ballast valve which, when open, ensures that the pump reaches its rated capacity of 550 g/h for water vapor.

Features

The two-stage design enables operation at low 10 -3 mbar, a low operating temperature, minimal backstreaming at low pressure, good pumping performance and gas ballast in the low 10 -2 mbar range

The check valve and venting device isolate the pump when it stops or is idle. They also prevent inadequate venting and oil contamination of the vacuum system when the pump is switched off or during a power failure

The IEC320 socket type allows the use of a standard power cable and eliminates the need to open the box and wire the motor

The open gas ballast valve directs dry air into the second stage of the pump. This increases the temperature of the module, which facilitates outgassing and purging of water vapor or other condensable gases from the oil.
