Balluff BOS01FJ BOS 18M-PA-PR20-S4S Cylindrical Reflective Photoelectric Sensor

The Balluff BOS01FJ, part of the 18M series, is a robust cylindrical reflective photoelectric sensor for reliable object detection on a wide variety of surfaces, regardless of color and material. The nickel-plated brass housing with M18 thread (Ø 18 x 75 mm) provides reliable performance in demanding industrial environments. With a detection range of up to 7 meters and a diverging red LED light source that produces a 300 mm diameter light spot at maximum range, it offers excellent detection consistency in combination with a reference reflector like the BOS R-1. The simple adjustment via a 270° rotation angle allows for easy and quick positioning. The sensor features a potentiometer and provides both normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC) PNP outputs that can be selected depending on the application requirements. It is designed for harsh conditions, has an IP67 protection rating, and is short-circuit and reverse polarity protected. With a fast switching frequency of up to 800 Hz and fast response times (ton/toff = 0.63 ms), it enables precise and fast detection. Polarization filters prevent false triggering due to reflective surfaces. The CULus, CE, UKCA, WEEE approvals and compliance with IEC 60947-5-2 standards ensure conformity and safe integration into automated systems. This robust sensor is supplied with two M18x1 mounting nuts and a detailed instruction manual.
