Housing washers for cylindrical and needle roller bearings are supplied as separate components. They are made of hardened carbon-chrome bearing steel and have a precision-ground raceway and a ground outer surface. The washers can be combined with roller and cage axial bearings as well as shaft washers to form complete bearings. SKF recommends the use of GS washers for high-speed applications where precise centering of the washers is required.
